For over a decade, Yingxian imparted her extensive knowledge of Fashion Design at the Fashion and Textile Design Department of China Academy of Art in Hangzhou, China, shaping the minds of aspiring designers from 2005 to 2021. In 2017, she embarked on a new chapter, relocating to Canada with her family. Since 2021, she has chosen Montreal as the canvas for her creative pursuits, establishing her studio in this vibrant city.
Yingxian's commitment to sustainability in fashion traces back to 2007 when she initiated her groundbreaking projects. Her exploration began with a deep dive into traditional Chinese wooden craftsmanship, specifically the intricate "mortise-and-tenon" joints, alongside an exploration of Zero Waste fashion principles. The fruits of her labor have garnered international acclaim, with her fashion artworks selected for prominent exhibitions worldwide.
Notable exhibitions featuring her work include "Patterns, So Much Fun!" at MoCA Shanghai-Youth Art Project (Shanghai, 2015); "The Magic of Space" at the 2014 International Fashion Art Biennale, Hangaram Design Museum (Seoul, 2014); The 12th National Art Exhibition at China Art Museum (Beijing, 2014); “Day and Night” at the 2013 International Fashion Art Exhibition, Today Art Museum (Beijing, 2013); the International Creative Design Exhibition at International Exhibition Center (Beijing, 2012); and the 2011 International Fashion Art Festival in Hague, Netherlands.
